I graduated in fashion by UDESC and I currently teach sewing and pattern draping. I live in Florianópolis, Brazil. I love making clothes and I am crazy about research, so I’m always looking for new ways of sewing, drafting and draping. In this blog, I share a few of the things I learned and that interest me at the moment.
Most of my sewing and drafting experience was acquired while I worked in a costume studio run by one of my professors. There I designed, drafted and sewed costumes for ballet, theatre, movies, operas, and even carnival. I also have experience making bespoke evening wear.
One of the wonderful projects I was part of was the web museum Modateca. Don’t forget to check this beautiful collection of fashion from the 20th century. I was involved mainly in the reproduction of the patterns and technical sketches. There are more than 100 garments with patterns available online, besides many others with high quality pictures. There is also a 3D rendering of a virtual exhibition of some of the most important pieces of the collection.
